In the morning, I am always running late! I always try to give myself plenty of time to get ready and make myself a healthy breakfast but it doesn’t always happen. It’s just a lot easier to hit that snooze button. So, it’s great for me to just throw a bunch of goodies into a smoothie. This way, I’m still getting all of the benefits of the fruit yet I can enjoy it on the go in the form of a yummy, refreshing drink.
I decided to pack this smoothie with tons of berries because A. I like the taste and B. They are filled with tons of vitamins and natural sugar to give me an energetic start to the day. I am for sure not a morning person so this helps! I also listen to podcasts in the car on my way to work to help wake me up. I listen to The Dollop and My Favorite Murder and they always make me laugh. MFM is a particular favorite of mine because it is a true crime podcast with lots of humor thrown in.
I also added this vanilla protein powder from Trader Joes, which helps maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails. There are some expensive protein powders out there but I want to do some research before I make an investment in a pricey one. Does anyone have a favorite?
- A big handful of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries (I added more blueberries this time but it’s up to you!)
- 1 banana
- 1 scoop of protein powder
- 1/4 cup of vanilla soy milk
- a spoonful of chia seeds
- Add ice to your cup before you pour!
